I’m counting! Man oh man am I counting. I’m in Berlin doing a project with long hours, so I have to say I’m happy to taper. I had a good long run around the Tiergarten, which is a fantastic place to run. Lots of great dirt surfaces, pancake flat. I ran the first six miles… Read more »

I’m preparing for my 3rd marathon and my first Boston. So assuming I trained (intentionally) for 16 weeks for each marathon that’s about 48 weeks of training. 48 weeks of reading a training plan. Obsessively. When I write “reading a training plan”, I really mean “reading two or three training plans,” because I collect them… Read more »

What a great week! Well, I shouldn’t be too quick to perclaim perfection, I’ve still got 16 miles or so to do tomorrow and a recovery run on Sunday, but still it’s been good. I spent the week staying in the city as I was working crazy hours at the New York Autoshow. The producer… Read more »

ug. It was cold today, not unseasonably so, but cold nonetheless. 25° at 6:00am when I decided I was going to have to wear tights. I thought I was done with tights for the year. But out they came. And out I went. The early miles were a little slow, but I think we fell… Read more »

First 20. More hills than I thought. Slower than I thought. Harder than I feared.
Posted on by Greg CohenAh, the 20 miler. It’s a staple of marathon training. I don’t know anyone who has done 26.2 without doing a few 20s weeks before. Because I ran a 25k last weekend, I’m actually a week late based on my Boston training, so I was anxious to get this one under my belt. And man… Read more »

Once again, I find myself in Sin City for a project. I’ve been out here in the desert for a week, now on the backend of a family vacation, and of course I’m loving the weather. However, running here is a constant chore, at least close to the strip. Yesterday I was slated by McMillian… Read more »

I’ve spent the last few days in Phoenix, actually had an extra day as my flight was cancelled due to some sort of snow fall in New York. I am not a lover of cold weather running, so it was great to have another day to be in shorts and a tee shirt. My job… Read more »

It was 8° when I left the house today. That fact pretty much framed the whole day — or at least until we could all forget about the whole 8° thing! Good long run with the Taconics today. I’ve been traveling for the last several weeks, and have been running alone, so it was a… Read more »
